I recently came across this question on Merchant Circle Answers. A lot of business owners have similar feelings, so I wanted to share my answer.

On Tuesday Twitter launched the new Follow Button. The follow button makes it possible to follow a twitter account from a website outside of Twitter. In the past companies would put a Twitter icon on their website asking website visitors to follow them. The visitor would click on the icon and would be taken to the company’s Twitter profile. They would then need to click on the follow button to follow that company on Twitter.
